Crone Wolf Medicine & Wolf Dog Rescue & Sanctuary's mission is to provide a safe, caring environment for abandoned and abused wolf dogs.
Crone Wolf Medicine & Wolf Dog Rescue and Sanctuary has been located on 41 acres in the canyon land foothills of the San Juan Mountains outside of Saguache, Colorado since 2020.
Our goal is to provide a permanent home for those wolf dogs needing sanctuary, while adopting out animals screened and trained as pet-quality. The animals we have rescued have been abandoned, neglected, and abused. They are survivors and can thrive with the healing power of unconditional love. Our work is to give them that opportunity. We are licensed with PACFA.
STARLA
Starla lost her mate back in October, 2023, so I brought her down below into a half pen to be close by my house to be able to bring her in and give her loads of attention and love. She is learning to walk on a halter and is partially trained to do so and loves belly rubs. She needs lots of attention right now because she and her bond mate were together for 8 years.
DOMINOE & EBONY
Dominoe (front) and Ebony Ivory are Tuxedo Husky mixed with Grey Wolf. They are loads of fun. They love to run and play and warm up quickly to visitors. When Dominoe was rescued as an 8-month-old pup, he had worms so badly that his stomach was so distended he couldn't stand for long. He also had Parvo. Now he is a happy, healthy boy and much loved!
DAZZLE AND GANDOLPH
Dazzle/white and Gandolph/Grey are a bonded pair. Dazzle always thinks all the food is hers when it's time to eat. Gandolph will wait, looking poorly, but she always leaves him plenty which he eats later. It is obviously a game they play, which isn't really all that upsetting to Gandolph because after eating, there they are...playing again!
DAZZLE
Getting loves from Dazzle. I have been working on her training. She will soon be ready for adoption. She is featured above with Gandolph, her bond mate.
RARITY
Rarity is a rambunctious but beautiful golden girl. In training, she is strong-willed and taking to the training in her own time! Slowly! She does have a partner, Tyke, who was born without proper hip sockets for his ball joints, but he still runs like the wind. He will always remain here so that all his needs will be provided as necessary.
SPIRIT
Spirit will always need to live here at the sanctuary. His past history of abuse contributed to his being other dog aggressive. He is extremely hesitant and backs away from most people, but he likes to lay in my lap for belly and chin rubs. He lives alone, as he is also food aggressive. His previous mate was adopted a year ago, and he won't accept another. He really is a good boy that
ARIES
Aries is my "gentle giant" at 130 pounds! He is leery of newcomers and might try to appear intimidating which is funny, as he is a big, toasted marshmallow! He is Grey Wolf with Husky and Akita. It takes time for him to warm up to new people. He loves to come into the house where he knows he will get plenty of lovies and cookies.
BELLA NOIR AND GENTLE
Bella Noir/black and Gentle/Grey are a beautiful, bonded pair. I had rescued Bella's mother when she was pregnant and Bella is the only wolf dog remaining with us. Her siblings were adopted out to Veterans with PTST and Survivor's Guilt. I help train them, and there is never a charge for pup or training. Gentle was being used indiscriminately to breed with Pit Bulls and Rottwe
BRUNO AND TAIMA
Bruno on the left and Taima. These are two of the wildest in our pack. They will be staying with us for a while before they’ll be ready for a fur-ever home. They like people, but they just don't want to train up in any way! They are a bit standoffish at first, but once they are accustomed to a person become very playful. True to their nature, they love to run, and run, and run.
COCO
CoCo is a gorgeous mix of grey wolf and red husky. He is very hesitant around strangers but learning with each human experience that it can be ok to interact. It takes him some time to gingerly accept attention. He has come a long way and grows more trusting the more he gets to know someone. He is very imprinted to his sister, Cayenne (not pictured). Both with always have a home here..ALWAYS
AMITY AND MAGIC Amity on the left and Magic. Amity will run behind her house and watch you until certain you are a safe person to know better. Magic is hesitant to at first, but engages more quickly after checking you out!
STELLA AND TREASURE
Stella (left) and Treasure having a great time conversing about where to play next. Both are low content Grey Wolf with some Husky and German Shepard in the mix. Stella is almost ready for a fur-ever home. She is loving, playful, and so smart. Treasure has a few health issues we are tracking at this time.
ZEPHER
Zephyr is a beautiful, happy, fun guy. I would love for him to find his fur-ever home, although I will grieve when he leaves! It would take him a while to adjust to a new home as he is deeply imprinted on me. However, I really think he could be better served being a constant in someone's life with plenty of space to run and live to share.
RAGNAR AND SOUL PUDDIN’
Ragnar (front) and Soul Puddin' are a deeply bonded pair. See how they "hold paws"? Ragnar does like to eat Puddin's food before she finishes, which does not sit well with her at all! However, they love one another deeply and will not be separated. This was made abundantly clear when Ragnar was gone for three days being neutered and recovering!
WAYA
Waya is a gorgeous little girl, but due to previous trauma she will not come out of her house for anyone but me. She loves belly rubs and under her neck scratches. When I get her out to run, she is very playful. She is easily startled and scared, and she will hide to be safe. She is very slowly growing into being a bit more trustful and engaged.
GYFT
Gyft is a beautiful 5 year old Timber and Grey Wolf with German Shepard. He loves to interact; he is so smart and playful. I would like for him to find a fur-ever home with someone who has a larger property where he can run and run. He is partially potty trained and trained to a halter. However, he does like to meander from side to side when walking, and we are working on that regularly. I w
KALI
This is all you will get to see of our Kali. When I rescued her about two years ago, she had been on a chain outside for years and was covered in her own feces. I could see her ribs through her double coat. As she is a big timber wolf girl, her throat was almost totally closed off from the chain that had been put on her when she was younger and never made larger. She is immediately terrified
